(Palestine) – Police in Palestine are embracing technology and have launched “Text a Tip.” According to Palestine Police Chief, Jeff Besing, the Palestine Police Department has activated the “Text a Tip” line which the community can use to send tips about potential criminal activity that they may have knowledge of. This information is kept confidential as the person supplying the “informational tip” does not have to provide his/her identity. The Palestine Police Department is able to respond to these “tips” by returning a text to the “tipster” if they need to seek additional information. The “Text a Tip” contact number is (812) 648-0727. Besing reiterates that the “Text a Tip” number is for alerting police officers of potential criminal activity and not for unnecessary complaining or drama related topics.
