With the forecast of temperatures in the 90’s and an afternoon heat indexes that will bump up against the century mark, the American Red Cross reminds you of some basic summer safety tips. Stay inside during the hottest parts of the day. Drink plenty of water, where light colored loose fitting clothes, and take frequent breaks if working outdoors. Check on family, friends, and neighbors who do not have air conditioning. Check on outside animals frequently to ensure that they are not suffering from the heat.
