Donate During the “Summer Slump”

(Undated) — The American Red Cross is reminding the public of the importance of donating, particularly during the “summer slump.” Colin Williams with the American Red Cross says donations typically drop by about 20-percent every summer. While about 38 percent of the population is eligible to give blood, less than 10 percent actually do. Your next chance to donate is coming on July 15th at the Hutsonville Community Center. They will be at Highland Church of Christ on the 30th. They will wrap up July with drives at LTC and Palestine High School on the 31st. The donation process takes about an hour and up to three lives can be saved from a single donation. The Red Crosses “Rapid Pass” can speed up the donation process by allowing you to complete the needed paperwork online ahead of time.
