Harvest Still Well Behind Average

(Undated) – Farmers statewide as still behind when it comes to harvest. According to the latest USDA Illinois Crop Progress and Condition Report, corn harvested for grain was at 58 percent, compared to 92 percent last year and 88 percent for the 5-year average. Soybean harvest was 77 percent complete, compared to 91 percent last year and 91 percent for the 5-year average. Winter wheat planted was at 83 percent, compared to 83 percent last year and 84 percent for the 5-year average. Winter wheat emerged was at 60 percent.
