If you are purchasing gifts on-line, have those items delivered to an address where you know someone will be there to accept them, to avoid “porch pirates.” Try to shop during the day, but if you do shop at night, consider doing it in a group. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash and if you do carry cash keep it in your front pocket. If you discover that a credit or debit card is missing, notify the credit card company or bank as soon as possible. Don’t assume that you misplaced it and will find it later.
