(Lawrenceville) – A two-vehicle accident in Lawrence County Saturday claimed the lives of two people. According to the Illinois State Police, the accident happened on US 50 a mile west of Lawrenceville when a vehicle driven by 43-year-old Shonda French of Linton, Indiana crossed the center line and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Derek Hughes of Lawrenceville. French’s passenger, 37-year-old Jessica White of Linton, Indiana was pronounced dead at the scene. Hughes passenger, 74-year-old Roger Hughes of Bridgeport was pronounced dead at Lawrence County Hospital. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time.
