(Springfield, IL) — Illinois Governor, J.B. Pritzker, issued a “stay at home” order for the entire state during a 3 pm press conference, today. The “stay at home” will begin Saturday at 5 pm. This order will remain in place through the end of the day April 7th. It has been issued in an ongoing effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. Residents will still be able to go to the grocery stores, put gas in their cars, take walks outside, make pharmacy runs, and pick up tack-out from their favorite restaurant. All roads, including the interstate highways and tollways, will remain open to traffic during this time. All “nonessential” business have been asked to close. Authorities locally and across the state are asking that you limit travel to essential trips only and continue to exercise good “social distancing.”
