(Undated) – Despite the current upward trend of gas prices motorists are going to see the lowest Memorial Day weekend prices in recent years. According to Head of Petroleum Analysis for GasBuddy, Patrick DeHann, for the third straight week, the national average price of gasoline has risen, posting an increase of six cents over the last week to $1.92 per gallon that is the lowest national average for the holiday weekend since 2003. It will be the first time the national average has been below $2 per gallon during the holiday weekend in 17 years when the national average stood at $1.46 per gallon. The statewide average in Illinois is just above the two-dollar mark at $2.18 a gallon. The price at the pump in Indiana is $1.87 a gallon.
