Gas Prices Slip Lower as Summer Comes to a Close

By Tony Collins Aug 13, 2024 | 6:34 AM

(Undated) – The summer driving season is coming to an end and we continue to see gasoline prices declining. According to GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick De Haan, as long as we can avoid a major hurricane threatening refineries in the Gulf region, we could see declines continue, with the national average potentially dipping to its lowest level of the summer. However, De Haan says should economic data come in better than expected, there still could be a short-lived rally. The current national average is hovering around $3.45 a gallon.
