(Oblong) – Renovations and upgrades continue at the Oblong Park. Last year the Village of Oblong was awarded an almost six-hundred-thousand dollar grant from the IDNR. The Open Space Land Acquisition and Development Grant was written to provide new ADA parking facilities, new lighting around the path and parking areas, and a new concrete walking path. Oblong Mayor, Teresa Fielder, says all parking facilities and walking path work is being done by local contractors from Senco Construction.
