(Oblong) – The Oblong Firefighters Association is working to help those in need following the recent devastation brought by Hurricane Helene. According to authorities, today through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, a trailer will be available at the Oblong Public Works Maintenance building at the Oblong Park for donations to a relief effort for the victims of recent flooding in Tennessee and North Carolina. All donated items will be taken to a Relief Center in Greenville, Tennessee with a convoy from Crawford County leaving early Friday morning. A list of specific needed items can be found below.

Tarps, shovels, axes, rakes
Trash bags
Work gloves & masks
Clorox wipes (any brand)
Diapers, baby wipes, formula
Adult Depends
First aid supplies, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Benadryl, etc
Personal hygiene items
Toiletries
Hand sanitizers
Dog & cat food, kitty litter
New socks & underwear for first responders
Charcoal
Green propane bottles
AA & AAA batteries
Any cleaning supplies
Sleeping bags & camping supplies
Generators
Chain saws
