Investigation Continues into Friday Death

(Undated) – A local death remains under investigation. According to Crawford County Sheriff, Bill Rutan, on Friday at 9 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the garage attached to an apartment located above the Robinson Hospital for Animals, following a report of a possible dead body. Rutan says the death does not appear to be suspicious. However, the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators were called to the scene. He says the Sheriff’s Office is awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine a cause of death. The LaMotte Township Fire Protection District, Crawford County Rescue, Crawford County Coroner, and United Life Care Ambulance Service assisted at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been released at this time.
