(Undated) — Tis’ the season for holiday shopping scams. According to BBB Investigator, Don O’Brien, most scammers use the holidays to exploit busy shoppers.
For those shopping on a new website, O’Brien recommends consumers check the spelling of the URL. He says many times bad grammar is a dead giveaway that the link is to a scam website. The Better Business Bureau says online shopping scams accounted for 41% of scams tracked in 2023.
