Oblong Police Department Looking for Officers

(Oblong) – The Oblong Police Department is looking for a full-time officer. According to Oblong Police Chief, Colton Williamson, the Village is currently accepting applications for both “entry level” and lateral transfers. Qualified applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application with a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, strong communication, and critical thinking skills, and must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check. Entry-level officers must perform and pass the “P.O.W.E.R” test to proceed in the hiring process. Candidates will be advised of the P.O.W.E.R. test date, time, and location after the resume deadline. Village of Oblong Police Department

The Village of Oblong Police Department is seeking candidates for a Full-Time Police Officer position. This position is open to Entry-Level and Lateral Police Officers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years of age at time of resume submission
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check
  • Strong Communication and Critical Thinking Skills

Salaries:

  • Entry-Level: $48,000 upon hiring date (pay increase after completion of 1-year probation)
