Gas Prices Break Thirteen-Hundred Day Milestone

By Tony Collins Dec 10, 2024 | 6:34 AM

(Undated) — For the first time in over thirteen-hundred days the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded fell below the $3 mark yesterday. According to GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick De Haan, it couldn’t come at a better time for motorists with the holidays upon us. De Haan says average gas prices in thirty-five states and nearly one-hundred ten thousand stations are below $3 per gallon. He says the good news is that we’ll likely continue to see additional downward pressure on gas prices, with the national average potentially falling another 10 to 15 cents by Christmas. The current national average is $2.99 a gallon.
