(Undated) — ‘Tis the season for holiday shopping and the Better Business Bureau is issuing a warning. BBB Investigator, Don O’Brien, says to be aware that not all ads on social media are legit.
O’Brien says there are a few things you should look out for to avoid being scammed. He says if the price appears “too good to be true” it probably is and don’t take “customer reviews” as gospel. According to the Federal Trade Commission, most online holiday scams target individuals aged 18 to 39. Last year, the FTC reported scams accounted for $73 million for goods that never arrived.
