(Undated) – The American Red Cross is again asking everyone to make blood donations part of their holiday tradition. According to the Red Cross, type O-negative blood donors and those giving platelets are especially needed to ensure the supply remains steady throughout the holiday season. With millions of Americans traveling and extended vacations becoming more common, fewer people may be available to donate blood, which could lead to shortages in the coming weeks. The Red Cross encourages everyone to give the gift of life this holiday season by donating blood or platelets. Your next chance to donate is coming up Friday at the Oblong Grade School. The Red Cross will be set up from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Learn more and find a drive near you at redcrossblood.org.
