(Undated) – Crawford County authorities are advising the public to limit travel. Crawford County Sheriff, Bill Rutan, says it is recommended that travel be kept to a minimum. He says if you must travel, make sure to give yourself extra time and make sure your vehicles are equipped with extra blankets, phone chargers, your medications, and a snack. These items would be most helpful to have due to the possibility of extended response times expected due to hazardous road conditions, should you have trouble in your travels. Rutan also says vehicles that are stranded or stuck on the side of the road will be checked, and most likely, they will be left where they are until the roads are safe enough to move those vehicles. He says this is necessary for the safety of area tow truck drivers. Rutan says if you see a vehicle stranded in the ditch and there is a yellow sheriff’s marking tape attached to the vehicle, it has already been checked by one of the deputies.
