(Undated) — Illinois is experiencing a back-and-forth weather pattern this week. Freese-Notice Weather Meteorologist, Paul Otto, says rising temperatures this weekend will quickly be followed by the return of cold air. Otto says the jet stream keeps making a severe dip and the next batch of cold that we see next week will be the lowest lows that we’ve seen this winter. He says that means sub-zero wind chills, but the cold front will keep dry air in the region. Otto says active weather could impact the southern two-thirds of Illinois in the latter portion of the month and into early February.
