Tariff Concerns Drive Gas Prices Higher

By Tony Collins Feb 4, 2025 | 6:35 AM

(Undated) — The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is up four cents from yesterday. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $3.10 a gallon. GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick De Haan, says after declining for much of the last week, oil prices began yesterday by jumping, in response to President Trump’s proposed tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico, and China, raising concerns over supply disruptions and an escalating trade war. De Haan says for now, he expects a “slow but modest” impact on fuel prices.
