(Undated) — We could be in for a windy and stormy night tonight. According to the latest “Hazardous Weather Outlook” from the National Weather Service, a line of severe thunderstorms is expected to “race across the area” this evening. The primary threat is damaging winds, potentially as high as 80 mph, though large hail and a few tornadoes are also possible. They say outside the storms, strong winds are expected today into Saturday with wind gusts of 45 to 50 mph likely this afternoon and evening returning tomorrow from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. The National Weather Service says spotter activation will be required this evening, with the most likely time frame between 8 p.m. tonight and 4 a.m. Saturday.
