(Oblong) — The Village of Oblong is reminding residents of some things to remember for next week’s Republic Spring Clean-Up. According to Oblong Mayor, Teresa Fielder, per Republic Services, do not set anything out in paper bags or deteriorating cardboard boxes. Mattresses must be wrapped in plastic or in a plastic cover. Carpet must be cut in 4 foot rolls and tied or taped. Furniture and toys are acceptable for pickup. No electronics, appliances, vehicle parts or batteries, propane tanks, pianos, concrete, or liquid paint/flammable materials will be accepted. Fielder says ordinance violations will be issued after this date for properties in violation of the property maintenance code. The Republic Services Spring Clean-Up Day is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15th.
