Authorities Asking for Help Solving Suspected Arson in Palestine

(Palestine) — Local authorities are asking for the public’s help in solving a suspected arson case in Palestine. According to Palestine Police Chief, Dan Cheadle, the Palestine Police Department and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office, continue to investigate a suspicious fire that occurred Saturday at around 11 p.m. at 101 S. Pike Street in Palestine. Cheadle says current information suggests that this was a “targeted offense.” He is asking for the public’s assistance in solving this crime. Cheadle asks everyone in that neighborhood to check any surveillance camera systems or “ring cameras” for suspicious activity. He asks that if you see something or know something, please say something.
