Illinois EMA Talks “Back2School” Safety

(Undated) — August is “Back2School” Safety Month, and the Illinois EMA is reminding parents to make emergency preparedness a part of their back-to-school prep. They say that whether it’s a severe weather event, telecommunications loss, or a threat of school violence, students need emergency preparedness information. They say students can use Safe2HelpIL as a safety tool and it can be utilized via email, phone call, text, or the app to confidentially send an alert on issues such as bullying, mental health struggles, or threats of violence.
