National Average Drops Below $3 a Gallon

(Undated) — The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded has fallen below the three-dollar mark. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the current national average is $2.99 a gallon. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $3.06 a gallon, seven cents lower than Friday. Across the Wabash in Indiana, drivers are paying an average of $2.84 a gallon, five cents lower than Friday. Oklahoma drivers are paying the lowest statewide average $2.45 a gallon, down three cents from Friday. Drivers in California are paying the highest at $4.60 a gallon, five cents lower than Friday.
