(Oblong) — The Village of Oblong is reminding the community about an upcoming road closing. Oblong Mayor, Teresa Fielder, says the first block of South Range Street will be closed at 1:00 p.m. on Friday to move in, park, and set up food trucks for our Fall Follies kick-off. Fielder reminds drivers to use caution and patience during this time while everyone gets situated. She says food trucks will be open and ready to serve by 5 p.m. Friday. The “Travis Henry Band” will take the stage at the mini park at 5 p.m. Fielders says to “bring your appetite, a lawn chair, and a blanket to enjoy the evening.” Fall Follies events run all day Saturday, beginning at 7:30 a.m. with a biscuit and gravy breakfast at the Central United Methodist Church, the Oblong Children’s Christian Home 5K at 8 a.m., and the vendor booths open at 9 a.m. The day will wrap up with the nighttime parade at 7 p.m.
