(Undated) — The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded has started to slip lower following last week’s rebound. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $3.01 a gallon, six cents lower than Friday. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $3.23 a gallon, four cents lower than Friday. Across the Wabash in Indiana, drivers are paying $3.05 a gallon, eight cents lower than Friday’s average. Mississippi drivers are paying the lowest statewide average at $2.54 a gallon. Drivers in California are paying the highest at $4.55 a gallon, four cents lower than Friday.
