(Undated) — The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded has fallen back below three dollars. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $2.99 a gallon, two cents lower than a week ago and eight cents lower than a year ago. The statewide average here in Illinois is $3.18 a gallon, five cents lower than last Monday. Across the Wabash in Indiana, drivers are paying an average of $2.89 a gallon, a sixteen-cent drop from a week ago. Oklahoma drivers are paying the lowest statewide average $2.48 a gallon. Drivers in California are paying the highest at $4.61 a gallon.
