(Undated) – The American Red Cross is again asking everyone to make blood donations part of their holiday tradition. According to the Red Cross, type O-negative blood donors and platelet donors are especially needed to ensure the supply remains steady throughout the holiday season. They say with millions of Americans traveling, extended vacations becoming more common, and the general hustle and bustle of the season fewer people may be available to donate blood, potentially leading to shortages in the coming weeks. The Red Cross encourages everyone to give the gift of life this holiday season by donating blood or platelets. Your next chance to donate is coming up on Friday at the Oblong Grade School. The Red Cross will be set up from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Learn more and find a drive near you at redcrossblood.org.
