Avoid Foodborne Illness During Christmas Celebrations

(Undated) – Feasting with family is part of many holiday celebrations. Foodsafety.gov offers tips to help prevent foodborne illness during the holidays. They say it’s important to keep food separated, cook food thoroughly, keep it out of the “danger zone,” use pasteurized eggs for dishes containing raw eggs, and avoid eating raw dough or batter, as raw flour and eggs can harbor germs. They also say to wash your hands with soap and water before, during, and after preparing food, before eating, after feeding pets, after touching garbage, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
