(Undated) – Fire departments are urging those with live Christmas trees to take them down as soon as possible following the holiday celebrations. The National Fire Protection Association says people should take down their trees soon after Christmas, as dried-out trees become a fire danger. Authorities also say that the trees should not be left in a garage or along the side of a home. According to the National Fire Protection Association, Christmas tree fires are not common, but when they do occur, they’re much more likely to be deadly than most other fires.
