(Undated) — Global tensions appear to be having little impact on gas prices. According to GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick De Haan, the capture of the leader of Venezuela and the seizure of significant oil tankers is having little immediate impact on prices.

De Haan says the oil in Venezuela is heavy and dense, meaning it needs additives to make it clean, and currently, there are few oil companies interested in doing business with the current regime in Venezuela.
