CCHD Offers Free Car Seat Safety Checks

By Tony Collins Jan 14, 2026 | 6:36 AM

(Undated) — The Crawford County Health Department is reminding parents to check their child’s car seat. They say data from the National Digital Car Seat Check Form shows that only 45% of rear-facing car seats are used correctly. They say misuse increases the risk of injury or death in the event of a crash. Having your car seat checked will help you know that you are using your child’s car seat or booster seat correctly and that you are doing the best you can to protect your precious cargo. The Crawford County Health Department has four certified car seat technicians who can make sure you’re using the right car seat for your child, teach you how to install it correctly, and make sure that the seat is safe. Contact the CCHD for more information or stop by for a quick check.
