(Undated) — The Red Cross is “signaling the alarm” as a result of below-normal blood donations. According to Ann Vastmans, spokesperson for the American Red Cross, several factors are impacting donations.
Vastmans says the shortage is especially serious for platelets and types O, A negative, and B negative blood. As a thank-you to donors for helping tackle the blood shortage, those who come to give through January 25 will be automatically entered for a chance to win a trip for two to the Super Bowl.
