(Undated) — A blast of winter weather remains on track to impact the area this weekend. According to this morning’s “Hazardous Weather Outlook” from the National Weather Service, cold weather is expected overnight tonight with wind chill values as low as 10 degrees below zero. They say there is currently a 50 percent chance of snowfall exceeding 5 inches south of I-70. Snowfall is forecast to begin Saturday afternoon and continue through the weekend. A “Winter Storm Watch” will go into effect Saturday morning and remain in effect through early Sunday. The National Weather Service says while the front that is bringing snow is forecast to move out of the area by late Sunday, bitterly cold conditions will persist through at least Tuesday. Current models show that any threat of “freezing rain” should stay well south of the Ohio River.
