The Red Cross will be set up at the Oblong Municipal Building today from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. According to the Red Cross, the recent inclement weather and one of the worst flu seasons in nearly 20 years have caused issues with blood drives and donations. That is why they say it is imperative for all eligible donors to give now, whether you are a first-time donor or someone who gives regularly. The Red Cross says Type O negative blood donors and those giving platelets are especially urged to give now to keep critical blood products on the shelves.
