(Undated) — The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded slipped below the $4 mark over the weekend. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average is $3.97 a gallon. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $4.27 a gallon, down a nickel over the weekend. Across the Wabash in Indiana, drivers are paying an average of $3.76 a gallon, down seven cents from Friday. Oklahoma has the lowest prices in the nation at $3.35 a gallon, four cents lower than Friday. California drivers are paying the highest statewide average at $5.85 a gallon, six cents lower than Friday.
