(Undated) — A very wet and rainy Monday brought just over two inches of new rainfall to the area, and more is on its way. According to the “Hazardous Weather Outlook” from the National Weather Service, another round is forecast for today. They say thunderstorms will redevelop ahead of a cold front this afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain are once again possible. Here at the WTAY/WTYE studios, we’ve recorded more than five and a half inches of rain for May. That added to April’s totals, and we have received nearly 11 inches of total rainfall since the beginning of April. WTAY/WTYE has served as an official weather recording and reporting station for the National Weather Service for more than two decades.
