Gas Prices Slip Lower Ahead of Memorial Day Weekend

(Undated) — Gas prices have slipped lower as we head into the Memorial Day Weekend. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is $4.56, two cents higher than last Friday. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $4.98 a gallon, down eleven cents from a week ago. Across the Wabash in Indiana, the statewide average is $4.01 a gallon, down twenty-one cents from a week ago. Oklahoma has the lowest prices in the nation at $4.05 a gallon, six cents higher than last Friday. California drivers are paying the highest statewide average at $6.13 a gallon, down a penny from a week ago.
