Precautionary Boil Order Remains for a Portion of Oblong

(Oblong) — The “Precautionary Boil Order” for a portion of Oblong continues following the Wednesday afternoon line break. Oblong Public Works discovered the “significant leak” in the area of North Range and East Nebraska at around 1:30 p.m. According to Oblong Mayor, Teresa Fielder, the leak was so large that it was pulling down the level in the water tower at a “significant rate.” By 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, the leak had been repaired. However, the boil order for those customers who went without water during the repair remains in effect until further notice.
