Lady Maroons Season Ends in Dramatic Fashion

(Robison) — The softball season came to an end for the RHS Lady Maroons in dramatic fashion yesterday. RHS fell to Tolono-Unity 4-3 in eight innings. RHS held a 2-0 lead heading into the top of the 7th inning when a three-run home run to left field by Karleigh Jamison gave the Tolono Rockets the lead. RHS answered back in the bottom of the 7th as Ella Bunten laid down a sacrifice bunt, which helped the Lady Maroons tie the game at three to force the extra frame. Tolono scored the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth and held the Lady Maroons scoreless to secure the win. Eva Hermann took the loss, striking out eleven batters and giving up six hits and four runs over eight innings while walking three. The Lady Maroons finish the season with a 25-8 record.
