(Oblong) — The Village of Oblong is reminding the public that door-to-door solicitors must be approved. According to Oblong Mayor, Teresa Fielder, the only solicitor permit that has been issued by OPD Chief, Colton Williamson, is for CONXXUS. She says if a solicitor comes to your door without showing a “Solicitor Permit” issued by the Chief of Police, kindly inform them that they need to check in with the Oblong Police Department. Officials say in order to go door-to-door, solicitors must have checked in with him and have been given written permission to solicit. Authorities remind the public to never show anyone anything with your name, social security number, or account information on it. You are not required to disclose any information or even answer the door.
