(Undated) – While we are forecast to enjoy “resort temperatures” this weekend, the recent blast of hot weather should serve as a reminder to be careful during the heat of summer. The Crawford County Health Department reminds the public of some basic summer safety tips. Stay inside during the hottest parts of the day. Drink plenty of water, wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothes, and take frequent breaks if working outdoors. Check on family, friends, and neighbors who do not have air conditioning. Check on outside animals frequently to ensure that they are not suffering from the heat. For more information on what to do when temperatures rise, visit keepcool.illinois.gov.
