(Undated) – The Illinois State Police are reminding the public about “Scott’s Law.” The plea from the ISP comes after troopers have been victims of nine Scott’s Law crashes, with two injuries reported. Safety Education Unit Trooper, Ryan Wagand, reminds drivers that “Scott’s Law” applies to all stationary vehicles and roadside pedestrians.
Wagand says violating “Scott’s Law” could result in a fine of up to $10,000 for a first offense, and, if the violation results in injury to another person, suspension of your license for a mandatory period of anywhere between six months and two years.
