(Undated) — The National Weather Service has released official information regarding several tornadoes that impacted the area on Sunday. They say the strongest recorded storm was an EF-2 tornado that hit southeast of Newton, with winds of 120 mph. It reportedly stayed on the ground for nearly four miles and had a max width of 250 yards. An EF-1 tornado has been confirmed to have hit just south of Annapolis with winds of 95 mph. The tornado reportedly stayed on the ground for just over two miles and had a max width of 600 yards. They have also confirmed a tornado impact in the Birds area of Crawford County. That storm reportedly had a peak wind speed of 100 mph and stayed on the ground for nearly four and a half miles with a max width of 300 yards. Clay, Richland, and Lawrence Counties also suffered damage from confirmed EF-1 tornadoes. The National Weather Service has confirmed a total of thirteen tornadoes from Sunday’s outbreak.
