(Undated) — Authorities statewide are reminding boat operators and passengers to stay sober and wear life jackets while on the water. IDNR Conservation Police will be participating in the annual “Operation Dry Water” campaign. “Operation Dry Water” is a year-round boating under the influence awareness and enforcement campaign. Illinois Conservation Police will be out in force during the July 4th holiday weekend and throughout the busy summer boating season, making safety checks on watercraft throughout the state. The mission of “Operation Dry Water” is to reduce the number of alcohol and drug-related incidents and fatalities on the water. Learn more at nasbla.org.
