(Undated) — The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department has released information about yesterday’s two-vehicle accident on Route 33. According to Sheriff, Bill Rutan, at around 6:30 a.m. thirty-six-year-old Damien Williams, of Annapolis, was traveling west when he crossed the centerline, striking thirty-eight-year-old Jenna Pitcher of Newton head-on. Rutan says Pitcher was extricated and transported to CMH by United Life Care. Two juveniles who were also in the vehicle with Pitcher were transported to CMH by United Life Care. Williams was extricated and transported by Jasper County Ambulance Service to the Oblong High School football field. From there he was loaded onto an Air Evac helicopter and transported to Carle Hospital in Champaign. A passenger in Williams’ vehicle reported suspected injuries on scene, but “self-transported” to CMH. The Oblong Fire Department, Crawford County Rescue, United Life Care Ambulance Service, and Jasper County Ambulance Service all responded to the accident.
