(Undated) — Another day, another round of wet weather. Here at the Classic Hits, WTYE studio, we have recorded just over seven inches of rain so far this month, the majority of which has fallen since June 18th. In May we recorded just shy of six and a half inches. Due to the ongoing wet weather, authorities are once again reminding the public to be “flood aware.” Drivers are reminded to “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.” The National Weather Service reminds the public that just six inches of fast-moving floodwater can knock over an adult. It takes just 12 inches of rushing water to carry away a small car, while 2 feet of rushing water can carry away most vehicles. They say it is never safe to drive or walk into floodwaters.
