(Undated) — The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded continues to fall following the July 4th weekend. This morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com show a national average of $3.72, down seven cents from Friday. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $3.96 a gallon, six cents lower than Friday. Indiana drivers are enjoying the lowest statewide average in the nation, with prices hovering around $3.04 a gallon, down five cents from Friday. California drivers are paying the highest prices in the nation, with a statewide average of $5.33 a gallon, down two cents from the end of the week.
