(Robinson) — The Robinson Police Department has announced “stepped up patrols” throughout July. Chief, Eric Schmidt, says officers are partnering with IDOT, ISP, and more than two hundred law enforcement agencies across the state in an effort to reduce speeding. Schmidt says speeding causes unnecessary danger on our roads by greatly reducing a driver’s ability to steer safely around hazards. He says during the “speeding enforcement blitz,” officers will intensify enforcement of posted speed limits. He says they will be focusing on South Cross, East Emmons, North and South Jackson, West Highsmith, South Robb, Main Street, and Highway 1.
